Overview

Vested HR through its affiliated insurance agency is in search of business minded benefits director with an active Florida life and health license (required) with a focus on supporting PEO benefits and offering and selling alternative benefits to new and prospective clients. In addition to a competitive base salary, we pay commissions on insurance product sales for allowable client level products. Additionally, there are equity opportunities for high performers in our insurance agency.  If you have benefits and peo experience and a desire to profit from your own sales of allowable insurance placements, this job is for you.

Compensation

Base salary range for this unique position starts at $90,000, with unlimited upside on commissions on placements of allowable insurance products. Our commission structure includes sliding scale residuals on certain insurance products you place and PEO referrals from agency business. Equity in our insurance agency may be awarded for high performers.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities of group health insurance sales and underwriting
  • Provides guidance to properly consult, underwrite, identify, prepare comparisons of existing and optional plans, and clearly present benefit plans to clients. 
  • Coordinates with PEO benefits operations team to ensure renewals are processed in a timely manner with the client and alternatives are provided.
  • Brokers client sponsored Group Health Products for non PEO group clients
  • Brokers Individual Health Policies -Placement (with third party vendors or otherwise) of  ICHRA and similar arrangements for individual level placements
  • Source, engage and educate new prospective clients
  • Assists brokers and direct sales staff to ensure clear and accurate information is delivered as they meet with prospects.
  • Assists with developing an annual open enrollment strategy with our vendors and internal benefits team to ensure each client is handled as directed.
  • Coordinates a seamless implementation and renewal process within the benefits team
  • Supports master policy renewals and benefit product selection
  • Reviews current workflows and standard operating procedures to ensure that they are documented accurately and updated on a consistent basis for the most efficient process
  • Trains and develops team members within the Benefit Sales and Benefit Implementation teams to ensure proper knowledge of department functions and responsibilities
  • Collaborates with Benefits Operations, New Client Implementation, and other operational teams to optimize the client experience
  • Necessary Skills and Background
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits and insurance sales, COBRA, PPACA, ERISA, IRS Section 125, and the PEO industry. A minimum of five (5) years of benefits experience to demonstrate sound sales and underwriting knowledge is needed. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Florida 2-15 license a MUST.
